Sound
Foley
artists are the people who make sound effects for films, cartoons etc. Their
job is to create sound to match the scene; watch this video to see how it’s
done.
Task 1: Read the classic
children’s story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.

Notice
where there are opportunities to add sound effects.
Think
about the sound and experiment with making the sound.
Try
reading the story in a storytelling way (i.e add lots of intonation and
interest to your voice)
Add
the sounds.
Can
you make a recording?
Take
some pictures of what you used for sound.
Task 2
Find materials to
make the following sounds:
The idea is that you do not go and record the actual sound e.g of wind or fire or a horse, but you use different things to make the sound as realistically as possible
Ø
A horse trotting
Ø
Wind rustling
through trees
Ø
A train
Ø
Tiptoeing along a
wooden floor
Ø
Birds flapping
wings
Ø
An arrow being
shot from a bow
Ø
Walking up
creaking stairs
Ø
A crackling
bonfire
Ø Can you add to the list?
