We learned about school in the olden days

 Thanks to Croía's mam Caoimhe who came in to tell us about school in the "olden days" (the 1990's!)



Patterns

 In maths this week we have been looking at patterns. We made 2 colour patterns, 3 colour patterns and growing patterns.





Cardboard box week

 We had fun during cardboard box week. With the large boxes we made forts, rockets and castles. 

With the medium boxes we made the tallest towers we could.

And with the small boxes we made junk art.







Creative homework

We had Creative Homework last week. Here are the wonderful creations that Junior Infants made.

LÁ GLAS

 Bhí spraoi againn inniu ar an Lá Glas. Seo iad cuid de na gníomhaithe:






            We performed Teidí Beag Álainn on the stage for the whole school.


  We all gave our presentations on Ireland. We are learning to standup straight, project our voices and speak in full sentences.


6th class did games and dancing with us.

Updates

 Our wonderful classroom SNA Aisling is giving yoga sessions to Junior Infants, which they really enjoy.

Easter Colouring Competition and Easter Raffle

There is an Easter colouring competition being run by the Parents' Association (closing date Friday). Your child has already done the sheet colouring at school. If you would like them to enter the competition please send €3 in an envelope with their name on it asap. Each classroom will have winner, who will receive an Easter egg.


The Parents' Association is also running an Easter raffle. The tickets cost 50c each or 5 for €2. If your child wants to enter, sen the money into school and we will write their name on the correct numnber of tickets (draw will be held on Friday 27th March). Please send a maximum of €5 for this raffle. Otherwise our hands will fall off from writing names on tickets!

Oisín's Dad talked to us about farming

Thank you to Oisín's dad Shane who came in and talked to us about his farm. 

We learned about the mart, different types of tractors and farm machinery, making silage, calves, feeding cattle and lots more.
