Learning about 3-D shapes
We have been learning about 3-D shapes this week. Have a look at home and see how many cubes, cuboids, cylinders and spheres you can find.
Our Autumn Walk
We went for a lovely Autumn walk yesterday. We had fun rustling the leaves with our feet and throwing them in the air. We found lots of horse chestnuts. We saw some cattle in the shed and some still in the field. We saw Killygarry Church, graveyard and Killygarry old school, which is being converted into a house at the moment.

Violins in the classroom
Past-pupil Adam Kelly and his Austrian exchange student Ferdinand played their violins for us at school.
Making Bread
We've been listening to the story of The Little Red Hen. This week we had fun making bread. Here is the recipe if you want to make it at home:
(It is also the recipe for pizza base)
540g plain flour
7g of yeast
375 ml of warm water
1 teaspoon of sugar
2 teaspoons of salt
2 tablespoons of oil
1. Pour the warm water into a bowl.
2. Add the yeast and sugar and leave for 5 minutes.
3. Add the flour, salt and oil.
4. Mix with a wooden spoon for 5 minutes.
5. Knead the dough.
6. Put the dough back into the bowl, cover with a wet tea towel and leave to rise in a warm place for several hours (or overnight)
7. After the dough has risen, punch the air out of it and shape into a loaf-shape.
8. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees, until golden.
