Final Assembly

Congratulations to Grace, Emma and Aoibhinn, who missed zero days at school this year.

Congratulations to Garry, Jack, Lucy, Patrick and Ashton who won awards for improvements in reading this year.

Sports Day continued!

Seeing as our sports day had to be abandoned, we took out the sports equipment and had some more fun.

Sports Day 2019

We had a great day last Friday at our sports day. We got to do the sponge race, parachutes, egg and spoon race, 3-legged race, sack race, skipping, tug of war, penalty shots, targets, sprints and relays. Unfortunately it was cut a bit short by the rain and we did not get to do the obstacle course, tag rug or welly-throwing. However, we had a good day and got plenty of exercise.

Speech and Drama medal winners

Wow! Two pupils in our class won medals in the Speech and Drama Exams. Well done Ugne and Benas! Here they are receiving their medals from Mrs Prior.

Write-a-Book winners and achievers

A huge congratulations to the children in our class who were awarded Merits and Highly Commended for the books they wrote back in February.
Max and Genevieve were presented with their Merit certificates and medals in the Cavan Crystal Hotel last Tuesday and Jack, Lucy, Angelena and Grace were presented with their Highly Commended certs and medals in the classroom by Mrs Prior today.
Well done to everyone in the class who participated in the project.

Gerard Reilly Gaelic Football tournament

The three local schools of Killygarry, Crubany and Corlurgan met in Killygarry GAA grounds on Wed 5th June for the annual "Gerard Reilly Tournament". Gerard Reilly was a past pupil of Crubany NS, who passed away from Muscular Dystrophy in 2002 at the age of 17. The schools come together for friendly competition each year to remember Gerard and raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy Ireland.
The weather was wet and miserable, but the children valiantly played on and enjoyed their day.

Active Schools

Killygarry is an Active School and we take frequent active breaks to keep us healthy (and awake!). For example, we go outside to the yard and do running or skipping. Inside the classroom, we do chair exercises or "Go Noodle" dancing. Here we are doing some skipping.
